Installation and de-commissioning of the Olympic Stadium Wrap
Installation and subsequent de-commissioning of the London Olympic Stadium Wrap has been successfully completed. In excess of three hundred fabric panels and associated steelwork has now been taken down. The fabric is destined to be re-used by charitable organisations around the World and a section has also been selected by London-based artist and architect Natasha Reid to provide the canvass for a piece of artwork in a forthcoming exhibition.
The company was initially consulted to confirm the geometry of the main stadium for Shade USA, who required accurate as-built three-dimensional information to enable the manufacture of the carbon-neutral fabric wrap panels, steel cables, beams, plates and connections.
Our knowledge of the complex as-built geometry of the stadium combined with our specialist practical experience in steel erecting and fabric structures put us firmly in place as the preferred installer of the system and, with a team of thirty erectors and riggers, we completed an accelerated installation program prior to the Olympic Games in July 2012.
